I don't know if that is true, but I'd like to pursue it for our family records. He was born in 1917, so possibly it was somewhere between the mid-1930's to 40's... in the Midwest/Kansas. Someone said it was the Cavalry, but I find the Cavalry to have been much earlier in Kansas. Can anyone help? But, the va office would be the best place to start. You should be able to find VA offices close to you by looking online. At least they can answer you questions better. Kansieo.com
